Ballina Cycling Club was formed in early 2013 by founding members Albert Morrow, John Mc Manus, Eamonn Kennedy, Noel Morrison, Oliver Murphy and Michele Reynolds. The response was overwhelming, and since then the club has grown from strength to strength to become one of the largest cycling clubs in the west of Ireland.
Cycling is fast becoming the pastime and outdoor activity of choice for people all around the world. Cycling Ireland, the governing body for cyclists in Ireland have reported an increase in membership every year for the last number of years. Cycling has the advantage that it is a non-impact sport, therefore there is a reduced risk of injury through participation, making it a suitable activity for nearly anyone. We are blessed to be based in such a beautiful part of the country and thus scenic cycles are guaranteed no matter what route you take. Our club caters for all abilities, male or female, young or old. We organise regular training sessions and club outings to suit various abilities and disciplines including leisure riding, racing, time-trialling and mountain biking.
